I recently spoke to Rev Peter Fairbrother, a OneSpirit Minister ordained in 2016. Peter worked for and continues to be a supporter of, a UK-wide charity called ‘Playlist for Life’, an award-winning music and dementia charity that encourages the use of music as a therapeutic intervention for people living with dementia.

Peter became involved with the charity because of the experience of caring for his mum who had Alzheimer’s. His story has been shared in his local newspaper, and Peter also spoke to his local radio station about his work, as well as his understanding of interfaith ministry. You can listen to the interview by visiting https://www.mixcloud.com/RSCommunityInfo/community-matters-the-reverend-peter-fairbrother-and-his-playlist-for-life/

The charity has an abundance of free resources that can be shared- from printed materials to online training. And Peter wants to bring this to the awareness of our community, in recognising how these resources can strengthen many aspects of ministry:

Like me, I’m aware that many fellow Ministers have journeyed with folk with dementia, both personally and professionally, and are involved in supporting dementia-related organisations in a variety of ways.

The Playlist for Life website outlines the free support we offer and can be found at https://www.playlistforlife.org.uk/.
